Ngauma Case: Malawi assumes responsibility
The Government of Malawi has taken responsibility in relation to the destruction of the Police Post Guard in the Mozambican border in Ngauma, Niassa province, and said it would punish the perpetrators of the incident, which occurred on August 3.
Malawi has ruled out any chance of being an attitude of war against Mozambique, or even a possible silent war, saying that was just an isolated incident.

Fraud is imminent in the Island of Mozambique
The Island of Mozambique, which during the last local elections had serious irregularities, is now in a climate of tension. Gulamo Mamudo, the former Mayor of the city and current head of the Office of Elections of RENAMO in the island accuses FRELIMO of orchestrating a scheme through which young people are part of the shock in order to prevent RENAMO members to vote. He stated that they will stay in the polling stations to fill the ranks so that the RENAMO members can abandon the process, since many of the supporters of his party are old citizens.

1315 Observers already accredited
The Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration has already accredited 1315 observers, between national and international, to monitor the elections of 28th October. 993 are domestic and 322 foreign. Among the international observers, the European Union figure to most, with a total of 131, followed by SADC by 85, the UNDP and the Commonwealth with 63 and 11, respectively.

Diana Case: Director of PIC heard in the Court of Pretoria
The trial of the `Diana Case’ continues next Monday with the prominent presence in the seat of the court of Balate Dias, director of the Criminal Investigation Police (PIC) in Maputo. The Mozambican police officer will be heard by the judge of the Court of Pretoria, in a meeting described as the ultimate production of evidence of this process which is being held for over a year.
Diana is accused of 65 crimes, including illegal immigration of young Mozambican, trafficking and subsequent exploitation in her brothel.

Food security ensured in Mogincual
In the coastal district of Mogincual (Nampula province), which was heavily battered by Cyclone Jokwe which destroyed several hectares of food crops, the local government authorities say that food security is assured with foods produced locally, thanks to the good results achieved in the past year.

Disabled angry with electoral administration bodies
The Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) is accused of ignoring people with disabilities by refusing to produce campaign materials and vote in Braille system, including the use of sign language.
The president of the Association of Young People with Disabilities, Sergio Quivela revealed that STAE did not respond to its request for the production of material in an appropriate language so that the blind and dumb could monitor the entire electoral process.
