Guebuza receives Envoy of Qaddafi
The President of the Republic, Armando Guebuza, received yesterday in Maputo, Mukhtar al-Cannes, special envoy of Libyan leader Muhammar Qadafi, bearing a message of congratulations to the Head of State on his victory in the last elections, whose results were confirmed Wednesday by the National Electoral Commission (CNE).
Speaking to the press, Mukhtar al-Cannes said that the meeting with the President provided an opportunity to discuss issues related to bilateral cooperation between Libya and Mozambique.

Mozambican electoral process requires time for perfection – says Mazula
After the National Electoral Commission (CNE) announced the results confirming the victory of FRELIMO and its candidate, Armando Guebuza, Brazao Mazula, former chairman of that electoral body, said that the Mozambican electoral process is complex and needs time to reach perfection.
Asked about allegations of Dhlakama and Daviz Simango that these elections were fraudulent, Mazula, said only that the irregularities were not enough to question the legitimacy of the process.

Ambassador of Sweden congratulates Guebuza
Ambassador of Sweden in Mozambique and Swaziland, Torvald Akesson, said yesterday at the Joaquim Chissano Conference Center in Maputo that the elections of October 28 were marred by "complex and confusing legal framework, as well as the lack of transparency" by the electoral administrative bodies. However, he congratulated Mozambique "for carrying out the fourth general elections and the commitment of many Mozambicans in the polls to exercise their right to vote″, as well as Armando Guebuza for winning presidential elections.

Suspected criminals terrorize Boane
Residents of Boane district in the province of Maputo say that crime is assuming an alarming dimension in that part of the country. This criminal action is supposed to be carried out by a group of five individuals who, in recent months, has been terrorizing people with the use of knives, including machetes and axes, in the dead of night. The Permanent Secretary of that District, Alberto Tembe, confirms the fact and adds that they have caused fatalities. However, the police in that district are silent on the subject.

Popular vandalize centers for cholera treatment in Ancuabe
Popular in Ancuabe district, Cabo Delgado, vandalized yesterday, the Centers for cholera treatment, allegedly because the personnel of health are to propagate the disease and confuse the community. According to the health officials, the vandalism has resulted in some injuries and there is possibility of fatalities. According to the deputy national director of public health, Leonardo Chavane, the agitation has led to the closure of the centers of cholera treatment installed in that point in the country.
