The former president, Joaquim Chissano, has been appointed as Adviser for the Bill Gates Foundation. Persists fear to denounce corruption - Governor of Zambézia
The governor of Zambezia, Carvalho Muaria, recognizes that many citizens are afraid to report cases of corruption, whereas this does not help combat an evil that is an obstacle to development. For the leader, many projects and aid that the country receives for stimulating national development fail because of the phenomenon. He also appealed to all social sectors to a greater commitment and courage to fight the evil.

About demonstrations: Mabote warns Dhlakama
The leader of the Labor Party (PT), Miguel Mabote, warns the Afonso Dhlakama for the consequences of the demonstrations he wants to pursue in the country. He says that it could degenerate into bloodshed. Companies in Mozambique already able to apply for the Project of Support for Business Competitiveness
A project to support the competitiveness and private sector development in Mozambique, especially SMEs, financed by the World Bank and Ireland, was Wednesday officially launched in Maputo. The project is estimated at US$26.62M. The project aims to contribute to poverty reduction by raising the private sector to generate employment.

Completion of the Sena Line faces many obstacles
The rebuilding of the Sena Line is facing immense difficulties now in its final stage due to lack of concrete sleepers and frequent delays in the arrival of train service in the workplace. As a result, the work takes place at a much worse and even to the point where workers spend a few days without rigging due to lack of material, such as happened in last Monday. Note that the situation is happening when there are only 32Km to complete the project.

United States of America announced programs to support the provinces of Zambezia and Nampula
The Embassy of the United States of America in Mozambique announced the launch of two development programs in Zambezia and Nampula. This is an investment of US$50M to be used for five years in each province. The programs aim to provide integrated services for health, HIV / AIDS, rural businesses, sanitation and hygiene, among other services to communities through partnerships between the beneficiaries of grants from the U.S. Government. http://www.rm.co.mz/.
Revenue from Exports reaches US$310M in Sofala
Revenue from export of various products from the province of Sofala, reached US$309.957.03. In the first half of 2009, Sofala placed in the external market products to the value of US$276.643.89, which came in addition to other US$33.313.14 from the third quarter. The most exported products were wheat flour and corn, shrimp, cotton, lumber, hydraulic cement, cotton seed and wheat bran.

Violation of Human Rights has reached extreme levels in Mozambique
Speaking on the occasion of the passing of December 10, International Day of Human Rights, Fernando Penda Penda, Coordinator of Civic Education and Information of the Human Rights League (LDH), said the organization is concerned with the continuing deterioration of conditions of public safety. The police are increasingly practicing anarchy, indiscipline, corruption. It has totally lost professional ethics.
