Constitutional Council reproves appeal of RENAMO for annulment of elections
The Constitutional Council reproved on Friday the appeal of RENAMO which wanted to see canceled general elections of 28 October, for alleged irregularities. On appeal, RENAMO claimed that several irregularities occurred before, during and after elections which gave victory to FRELIMO, in the legislative elections, and Armando Guebuza, in the presidential elections.

Invitation for demonstrations of RENAMO: G-12 does not want blood
The leader of the group of the political parties excluded from the 2009 electoral race (G-12), Francisco Campos, said that his organization would seriously consider whether or not to participate in the demonstrations to be promoted by RENAMO to protest the election results, because his group does not want bloodshed.
He said "in general, the demonstrations organized by RENAMO end in bloodshed or in deaths and destruction of important infrastructure and social structures, even if they are declared as based on the principle of peace."

FFH: There is evidence of financial diversion in Cabo Delgado
The former delegate of the Fund for Housing Development (FFH) in the province of Cabo Delgado, Classio Mendiante, is wanted by authorities, according to a public announcement by which he had mismanaged that institution and also diverted values estimated in one million Meticais.

MDM IN Nampula is preparing to enter in the districts
The Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM) in the province of Nampula held, Thursday and Friday last week, its first provincial conference. The meeting aimed to elect the provincial council, the provincial political delegate, a policy committee and heads of departments that make up the party.
According to Mario Albino, the newly elected provincial political delegate, MDM in Nampula want to establish itself in administration, coastal towns and districts as a way to prepare for the next elections and consolidate itself as a mass party.

2.3 million EUROS needed to implement the Millennium Villages Program in 2010
Mozambique will need 2.3 million Euros in 2010 to implement the UN initiative called "Millennium Villages project", directed to the progress of poor communities through science and technology. The estimate was presented by Helio Banze, of the Ministry of Science and Technology, during the annual meeting of the Millennium Villages in Mozambique, to evaluate and harmonize the work and develop a plan of activities for next year. Slight recovery of the economy in 2010
The Mozambican economy may register next year, a slight recovery, with growth standing at 6.3%. According to data released last week, growth in 2010 will be below the levels that had been achieved by 2007, when the average annual economic growth was 7.8%. Hospital "24 de Julho" of Beira in rehabilitation
The building of the hospital "24 de Julho" in the city of Beira is being rehabilitated. The public infrastructure of four floors and several rooms was not restored since the colonial time. In recent years it achieved a marked deterioration, forcing health authorities to withdraw from the site. In the last times, the building was being used as house of thugs.

State participates in 129 companies but take profits in 8
About twenty years after the start of privatization of state enterprises in Mozambique, the Institute for Management of State Holdings (IGEPE) estimated that the Mozambican state has interests in approximately 129 companies, but it only reaps dividends in eight. Note that the process of privatization of firms in Mozambique has not achieved its objectives of boosting the economy of enterprises. As consequence, many companies put thousands out of work, for mismanagement.

Detention of Permanent Secretary of Science and Technology: Attorney requires bail
Attorney Victor Sueia, serving Filomena Zimba, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT), detained last Wednesday, said Friday, going into this week with an application for bail under term of identity or security prison for his client, so that she can attend the process in freedom. Sueia wants to take this action even after being warned by prosecutors that the crimes that his client is accused are not eligible for bail.

"Airports Case": Court continues with hearing sessions
The trial on the "airport case" continues today at "Escola Secundaria Francisco Manyanga". Started on November 16, it had been suspended on the 27th of the same month to give place to the completion of the second season of examinations of the General Secondary Education. The interruption was used by the various stakeholders of procedure to carry out a series of new steps, depending on the subject produced in the first eight days of the production of evidence.
