There is political will to tackle corruption - recognizes CIP
The Center for Public Integrity (CIP) of Mozambique believes that there is some political will to improve the fight against corruption in the country, but notes that there are many aspects that undermine that effort. CIP believes that a positive point in the fight against corruption goes to the fact that the government agreed to make a review of anti-corruption law passed in 2004 by presenting a number of shortcomings.
According to Marcelo Mosse, the Chairperson of that Institution, the statute of the General Staff and Agents of the State also shows the will of the Executive to improve the situation of the country, but draws attention to the fact that some aspects are not detailed. Mosse made these statements on the occasion of the celebration of the week against corruption.
